Bon Jovi Bows At No. 1 On Euro Albums Chart

Congratulations, boys!

From Billboard.com:

Bon Jovi lands another pan-European No. 1, as the band's new "Greatest Hits" compilation (Mercury/Universal Island) makes a winning start on Billboard's European Albums chart. Rihanna's "Only Girl (In The World)" (Def Jam/Universal) begins a second week atop European Hot 100 Singles.

The veteran American rock act missed out on the European crown with its last studio release "The Circle," which debuted and peaked at No. 2 exactly a year ago. That interrupted a perfect run including 2007's "Lost Highway," which spent four weeks at No. 1, "Have A Nice Day," (two weeks in 2005), "Bounce" (one week in 2002) and "Crush," on top for no fewer than seven weeks in 2000.

"Greatest Hits" debuts in pole position in Portugal and Ireland, with No. 2 starts in the United Kingdom (on sales of 87,000), Germany and Austria, No. 3 in Holland in Switzerland and No. 5 in Norway. The "Circle Tour" continues until Dec. 19, and following further North American dates in February and March, the band will embark on a major 2011 European tour opening June 8 in Zagreb.
