Anaheim Night #1 - Feb. 26, 2010

Good morning! I just woke up after barely 8 hours of sleep, and the knots in my stomach are back, ready for tonight's round #2!

Thank you to all who followed me on Twitter for the set list/PBP last night -- I saw people translating my tweets into other languages for their followers! Crazy! I'm very honored, and so glad you all enjoyed the show vicariously through us all who went.

I did notice, however, that one tweet didn't make it through - the band DID play "Get Ready" between Bad Name and Born To Be My Baby (I believe), and I remember texting that out...so something must have had a glitch. Sorry about the confusion!

The set list was...predictable. Yeah, not too thrilling to be honest, but I'm still holding out hope for a few surprises tonight. And I'm still begging for Captain Crash! ;)

I loved hearing Get Ready and Something For the Pain - fantastic acoustic! And the band coming out on the catwalk is definitely a treat -- and I am right up front in Los Angeles (not last night like I thought), so I am simply going to DIE. I can't wait!

Overall, the show was great. I was further back than I've ever been, had tall guys in front of me, a sullen-faced teenager on one side, and couldn't see the band half the time, but the energy and music were great. And there were a couple of production issues, but Jon remained in high spirits (or so it seemed), so at least the show wasn't ruined by his mood.

I had a hell of a night with photography (more blurry shots than I've ever taken, thanks to heads and hands in the way), but when the band came out on the catwalk (and Jon did Hallelujah, I nearly died) I snapped that camera so many times my arms hurt from keeping it up. LOL. I got great shots of Dave and Tico, as well as Richie and Jon of course, so I finally have a full catalog of all members! hehe

Anyway, I just woke up to the news of the earthquake in Chile (God bless them...who's next?!) and the tsunami warnings in Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and the entire U.S. west coast. And the weather is definitely something fierce out there...so I am NOT thrilled about driving back down south. Not sure what's going to happen, but we'll see...I hope it isn't severe enough to make the band postpone or cancel, but then again, I don't want anyone to get hurt.

So if you're headed there tonight, BE CAREFUL! And PLEASE do not drink and drive (and honestly, don't drink and go to a concert either...drunks were rampant last night and I wanted to strangle this moron who kept cussing out Jon and boo-ing while the rest of us were screaming and cheering. It just ruins the show for yourself and others, so please don't do it!)

Awesome review and pics Becky! Have fun tonight and stay safe! It's definately a different world now as far as affordable seats but I guess if we want to keep seeing them we'll have to get used to it. At least you were able to experience the show!
